Duplicate User Management
What is it?
A plugin to detect and help you manage duplicate user accounts.
Why?
This is a very simple procedure – nothing fancy. It’s meant to pull together multiple duplicate accounts. It uses some very simple statistical algorithms to match first and last name together, and then – if the first and last name combination have more than one email address – send a single email to both email addresses, asking the person which account they wish to keep.
Then, it’s up to you – to delete the old account based on the responses. I hope in the future, to add something like a MERGE ACCOUNT (so that the user meta from one user can be copied to another user), and you can “pick and choose” what you want to merge together. But today, it simply doesn’t do that – at least not yet.
