Manage Inactive Users

What is it?

We wrote a plugin to manage inactive users. User accounts that go dormant over time.

What is an inactive user account?

An inactive user account is where the user stops logging in to your site. Pretty soon, they haven’t been back in 30, 60, 90, 180, or 365 days. That’s a FULL YEAR of never hearing from them. You start to wonder just how many users are actually live and truly using your products.

Why would a user account go dormant?

Lots of reasons – but here are a few that you might have…

  • They changed jobs / roles / companies, so they no longer need or use the purchase or account they got from your site
  • They changed email addresses and forgot about your product / service / site
  • They went on sabbatical or extended vacation.
  • They had a family emergency, had to move or quit their existing job to take care of family

It happens, whatever the reason or cause, it happens, and now – you have to deal with it. The question is: what is the best way?

Do I need this plugin?

Maybe, maybe not. Below are both reasons for using this plugin and reasons for not using this plugin. You’ll have to make that determination based on your own needs. We are not here to tell you that you must have this plugin. In fact the opposite, if you don’t need it – don’t use it! In case you are thinking: I’ll just use my CRM for all of this, we encourage you to read on our blog about TRANSACTIONAL EMAILS vs MARKETING EMAILS, before making your mind up.

You May Need this when…
  • Manage accounts inside wordpress
  • Don’t have a membership plugin OR your membership plugin doesn’t offer account expiration
  • Wish to integrate inactive accounts with wpFusion
  • Wish to integrate inactive account workflow with a series of emails
  • Don’t want to use your CRM for this functionality
May Not Need this when…
  • Manage inactive user accounts in your CRM instead
  • You have a wordpress automator plugin
  • Your membership plugin handles account expiration and emails
  • You don’t need tagging with wpFusion
  • You don’t care about managing inactive accounts

Are there dependencies on other plugins?

No. There are no dependencies on other plugins. That said, the pro edition will integrate with additional plugins IF you have them.

PRO Edition – additional features IF plugins are installed:

  • wpFusion – allows tagging of users at specific points of inactivity, and when the action occurs
  • WP MAIL SMTP Pro – watches the email log for hard bounces, and can mark the user account as BOUNCED in a usermeta field

How do I purchase this plugin?

It’s coming soon. Sorry, it’s not available yet. If you are interested in this plugin and early access, let us know by filling in the contact form below. When it becomes available it will be offered as a Freemium model (free in wordpress repository for some functionality, paid for pro functionality).
